MEET THE TEAM

WOMESA Governing Council

The WOMESA Region has the following as the Governing Council:

  • 1. CHAIRPERSON/PRESIDENT: Leads the council, sets agendas, represents WOMESA publicly, provides strategic direction, ensures governance and compliance, and facilitates collaboration.
  • 2. VICE CHAIRPERSON: Supports the Chairperson, assumes duties in their absence, assists with tasks, acts as liaison, represents WOMESA, and supports strategic implementation.
  • 3. SECRETARY: ISSUE NOTICES OF THE MEETINGS OF THE GOVERNING COUNCIL AS DIRECTED BY THE PRESIDENT; TAKING MINUTES OF MEETINGS AND KEEP RECORDS OF ALL SUCH MEETINGS.
  • 4. TREASURER: Oversees finances, manages budgeting and reporting, ensures financial compliance, provides financial advice, and monitors cash flow and investments.
  • 5. MARKETING AND COMMUNICATION OFFICER: Develops marketing strategies, manages social media and website content, coordinates PR, creates promotional materials, and engages stakeholders.
  • 6. COUNCIL MEMBER: Participates in meetings, contributes to decisions, serves on committees, provides expertise, supports initiatives, and represents WOMESA.
  • 7. HEAD OF SECRETARIAT: The Head of Secretariat oversees the day-to-day operations of the Association, including: preparing financial statements, work programmes, and budgets in consultation with the Treasurer; implementing decisions from the Council, Administrative Council, and AGM; managing administrative and financial affairs; conducting research aligned with the Association’s objectives; monitoring relevant developments and advising members; and preparing annual activity reports for the Council.
